ICAS TPS Financial Reporting

This part of the syllabus covers accounting for business transactions, group financial statements, individual compay financial statements, understanding accepted accounting principles, financial communication and accounting requirements. Students are expected to be able to recommend the appropriate accounting treatment under International Financial Reporting Standards to account for specific transactions, prepare journal entries, with supporting calculations, to account for a range of transactions in accordance with any relevant guidance on accounting treatment, construct financial statements for an individual companies, construct financial statements for a group including joint ventures and associates, construct appropriate disclosures for inclusion within the annual report and accounts, consider international and UK accounting requirements for a range of companies.
